Romeo Lavia is one of the young talented defensive midfield players that are in the middle of a big transfer saga, He is been chased by Chelsea and Liverpool.
It has been a crazy summer transfer window. Liverpool and Chelsea have both been battling for top midfielders with big potential. Chelsea has already acquired the services of Moises Caicedo and still looking to bolster their midfield with the also young and energetic Romeo Lavia. But Liverpool on the hand also looks to bring on board the young and energetic lad as they look to replace Fabinho.
Much like Moises Caicedo, it has swung between both clubs and it’s just going to come down to player choice. That’s what is being indicated by Southampton – they are prepared to do a deal with both clubs. Liverpool has now actually had an offer accepted for £60 million, so things are moving quite rapidly. Chelsea’s offer of £55 million seems to also be a bargain that Southampton are ready to accept. But it’s seemingly the case that Chelsea would still need a little bit of work and finalisation on their bid and structure even though Southampton do indicate that they are prepared to accept that deal.
Romeo Lavia is only 19 years old but is highly rated. The former Manchester City prospect looked very impressive in his first Premier League season last campaign with the Saints even though relegation caught them.
Now that his current club Southampton are down on the tier, it is no more a surprise to see top managers of top clubs like Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino want Lavia in their teams.
Both of their midfields require much more reinforcements defensively as witnessed in their game yesterday and Lavia could help provide other midfielders with the freedom to roam and be more productive in attack.
